A dessert shop in Swindon’s town center, Kaspas Desserts, has been assigned a food hygiene rating of two out of five following an inspection by food safety officers on September 30.
The establishment, located at Wessex Court on Clarence Street, has been categorized as needing improvement. While its hygienic food handling practices were rated as very good, the cleanliness and condition of the building and its facilities were found to require enhancement. The management of food safety received a generally satisfactory assessment.
Kaspas Desserts operates approximately 100 locations nationwide, with the Swindon outlet being one of the lowest-rated in the franchise. The only other Kaspas store to receive a similar score is located on Kingsbury Road in London.
When approached for comment, Manager Jordan refrained from discussing the specific reasons behind the low rating but expressed optimism for improvement ahead of the upcoming re-inspection. He stated, “The issues were related to small things, and we have addressed them. They provided us with guidance on how to make improvements, and we have followed their advice.”
Jordan emphasized the support from food safety officers, adding, “Nobody is perfect. We are committed to rectifying these issues and look forward to the re-inspection soon.”
