Henrietta Tseng, a seasoned food and beverage consultant, shares her top restaurant recommendations in Hong Kong for those craving the freshest seafood, authentic dim sum, and more.
Tseng, who recently launched Yonna Yonna Gelato – a new gelato concept from Okinawa’s Yanbaru Gelato – at The Twins Mall in Kai Tak, Kowloon, sat down with Andrew Sun to discuss her favorite dining spots in the city.
“I enjoy a wide variety of cuisines, but Japanese food holds a special place for me. I love its simplicity, freshness, and the artistry in its presentation,” Tseng said. But what truly keeps her coming back to a restaurant, she adds, is the people behind it – from the chefs to the service staff.
For sushi enthusiasts in Hong Kong, Tseng highly recommends Sushi Kappo Ro Ann, located on the 16th floor of Macau Yat Yuen Centre at 525 Hennessy Road, Causeway Bay (Tel: 3590 8414). Led by Executive Chef Sonoda-san, a native of Kumamoto, the restaurant offers some of the freshest seafood sourced directly from his hometown in Japan.
Another top recommendation is Tirpse, a unique Japanese-French fusion restaurant at Shop 219, K11 Musea, Victoria Dockside, Tsim Sha Tsui (Tel: 2333 0031). Chef Yuta Shimizu, known for his passion and youthful energy, infuses creativity into each dish, blending traditional Japanese techniques with French culinary flair.
Both spots offer a remarkable dining experience for anyone seeking fresh, high-quality sushi and more in Hong Kong.
