Tokyo’s Meguro River is a prime location for cherry blossom viewing, with its picturesque pink-lined banks drawing crowds each spring. This year, Starbucks Reserve Roastery Tokyo is adding to the seasonal charm by unveiling an exclusive lineup of sakura-inspired drinks and treats for a limited time.
Exclusive Sakura-Themed Beverages
Leading the collection is the Sakura Cream Latte, available hot or iced for 1,050 yen ($6.93) dine-in or 1,031 yen takeout. This specialty drink, offered at the Main Bar on the first floor, blends red bean paste and powder with cinnamon, delivering a refined sweetness reminiscent of traditional cherry blossom flavors. Made with soy milk, it enhances the espresso’s depth while evoking the scent of spring in full bloom.
Another standout is a Peach Tranquility-based iced tea, infused with chamomile, pineapple, white peach, plum jam, and salted cherry blossoms. The initial sip offers a delicate peach flavor, while stirring the drink releases cherry blossom notes, creating a balance of sweet and savory sensations.
For those looking to celebrate spring milestones, Starbucks introduces a sakura-inspired cocktail. Made with Teavana’s Sakura Allure tea, the drink incorporates amazake—a traditional Japanese fermented rice beverage—and sparkling sake, topped with a skewer of cherry blossom sweets. This elegant cocktail is ideal for graduation and corporate induction ceremonies.
Additionally, a new take on the Soy Latte joins the menu, featuring ristretto instead of traditional espresso, resulting in a milder, smoother flavor.
Limited-Time Sakura Treats at Princi
Starbucks’ in-house Italian-style bakery, Princi, is also embracing the cherry blossom season with a selection of returning sakura-themed baked goods. These seasonal treats will be available from February 15 to April 11, with the sakura Loaf Cake extending its availability until May 9.
Customers can enjoy these exclusive items both inside the Roastery and at several Princi locations, including Daikanyama T-Site, Ginza Maronier Street, Marunouchi Oazo, Newman Yokohama, Tamagawa Takashimaya S・C, and Azabudai Hills.
For those seeking an immersive hanami experience, opting for takeout offers a slightly lower price while allowing visitors to enjoy their sakura-inspired delicacies beneath the cherry blossoms along the Meguro River—a truly unforgettable way to welcome spring.
