In a significant development, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced the recall of over 16,000 pounds of breadcrumbs marketed under the La Fiesta Food Products brand. The recall encompasses two varieties of breadcrumbs, namely Unseasoned Bread Crumbs (Pan Rayado) and Seasoned Bread Crumbs (Pan Rayado Sazonado). The root cause of this recall is the presence of sesame, an allergen that has not been declared on the product labels.
Adding to the concern, the crucial allergen warning is absent in Spanish, potentially endangering Spanish – speaking consumers who may unknowingly consume these products.
