Intuit Dome, poised to become the world’s most technologically advanced and expensive basketball arena, is nearing completion in Inglewood, set to open this summer as the new home of the Los Angeles Clippers. With an estimated cost of $2 billion, this state-of-the-art sports and music venue is a testament to billionaire Clippers owner Steve Ballmer’s commitment to innovation and fan experience.
The arena promises a host of cutting-edge features including frictionless payments, premium seating close to the action, a colossal circular screen, and top-tier acoustics. Yet, alongside these technological marvels, the culinary offerings at Intuit Dome are set to redefine stadium dining. Under Ballmer’s Halo Sports & Entertainment, a partnership with Levy Restaurants has birthed 310 Provisions, helmed by executive chefs Adam Brown and Hagan Whelchel, tasked with transforming traditional stadium fare into gourmet delights.
Highlights from the menu include personal-sized Detroit-style pizzas, double cheeseburgers featuring New School American cheese from renowned LA chef Eric Greenspan, and bacon-wrapped hot dogs crafted with Niman Ranch franks. For dessert, patrons can indulge in churros paired with a decadent dulce de leche dip. Notably, even the pretzels are meticulously hand-rolled by a team of ten dedicated cooks, while sushi rolls seasoned with dried soy flakes, overseen by a former Nobu chef, offer a sophisticated option that can be enjoyed with one hand.
Unlike conventional arenas where food preparation is centralized, Intuit Dome boasts two main prep kitchens, multiple commissaries, and 21 strategically located cooking stations throughout the venue. This decentralized approach aims to streamline service, allowing fans to swiftly purchase items and return to their seats without missing a moment of the action. Payment processes are similarly efficient, eliminating traditional checkout counters.
While specific concession prices are yet to be disclosed, Intuit Dome is expected to align with market rates for stadium fare, with potential discounts for Chuckmark Certified members. The venue’s VIP clubhouse, accessible exclusively to courtside ticket holders, offers an expansive sports bar atmosphere complete with buffet-style kitchens and ample bartending facilities.
Beyond its interior amenities, Intuit Dome integrates outdoor plazas reminiscent of Times Square, featuring local vendors to cater to both fans and the broader Inglewood community. This community focus extends further with outdoor and indoor basketball courts, including Court B, equipped with a large 4K screen and seating for private events.
Situated adjacent to the illustrious SoFi Stadium and recently renovated Kia Forum, Intuit Dome’s opening is set to invigorate Inglewood’s Prairie Avenue, with a lineup of events including concerts by Bruno Mars and various musical and comedy performances leading up to the NBA season in October 2024.
Intuit Dome not only promises to elevate the fan experience through cutting-edge technology and world-class amenities but also aims to become a vibrant hub within the Inglewood community, blending entertainment with local engagement on a grand scale.
