The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is gearing up to host the Food Expo PRO and Hong Kong International Tea Fair simultaneously from August 15 to 17, 2024, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. These events will showcase a diverse array of global foods, beverages, teas, and related products, serving as a premier sourcing platform for F&B importers, wholesalers, retailers, restaurants, department stores, and e-tailers. While the first two days are exclusively for trade buyers, the fair opens to the public on August 17.
Running alongside these events from August 15 to 19 are the Food Expo, Beauty & Wellness Expo, and Home Delights Expo, collectively expected to draw around 2,000 exhibitors to the venue.
Food Expo PRO promises an international culinary feast with pavilions representing countries like Mainland China, Japan, Korea, Mexico, and ASEAN nations such as Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines. This year’s focus on sustainable diets includes a dedicated “Food Science and Technology” zone showcasing alternative and future food products. Notably, there will also be a significant presence of “Halal Food & Beverage.”
The event will spotlight the booming ready-meals market, featuring exhibitors from Mainland China offering easy-to-prepare meals with unique regional flavors from provinces like Fujian, Guizhou, Hunan, Sichuan, and Zhejiang.
Attendees can also look forward to engaging seminars and forums covering industry trends and opportunities. The Food Tech Symposium will feature discussions on technological advancements, innovations in food manufacturing, and sustainability.
Concurrently, the Hong Kong International Tea Fair will display a wide range of teas, tea-related products, and tea ware. Highlights include the International Tea Event Space Design Competition 2024, promoting tea culture through creative space designs, and the Hong Kong International Tea Competition, where teas will be judged across six categories.
Moreover, the fair will host the 1st Hong Kong International Tea Culture Forum 2024, aimed at fostering international dialogue on tea culture and promoting industry development. Other attractions include tea tasting sessions, international tea art performances, and the ‘International and GBA KamCha Competition – HK Style Milk Tea Final’.
Both fairs will incorporate the HKTDC’s EXHIBITION+ model, integrating online and offline elements to facilitate smart business interactions through the Click2Match platform from August 8 to 24.
Additionally, the International Conference of the Modernization of Chinese Medicine and Health Products (ICMCM), organized by the Modernized Chinese Medicine International Association (MCMIA) in collaboration with HKTDC and scientific research institutions, will run on August 15 and 16 at the Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Centre, offering insights into the traditional Chinese medicine industry.
These events aim to enhance industry connectivity, foster innovation, and showcase the dynamic trends shaping the global F&B and tea sectors.
