A female customer, identified as Nisa, took to social media to recount a distressing encounter with a food delivery rider who allegedly harassed her at her home in the early hours of the morning.
According to Nisa’s tweet, the incident occurred when she ordered food from a restaurant located in Cheras, with the delivery arriving around 2am. Following the delivery, Nisa claimed that the rider asked to use the bathroom inside her house despite her refusal.
“He insisted even after I said no,” Nisa stated in her tweet.
Feeling unsettled, Nisa contacted her building’s security guard to verify whether the rider had left her apartment. The guard confirmed that the man remained on her apartment floor for 20 minutes after delivering the food, leaving her feeling anxious.
“My food was left unattended during that time,” Nisa tweeted, expressing her frustration.
Upon reviewing footage captured through her door’s peephole, Nisa alleged that the rider had engaged the security guard, questioning whether his presence was disturbing her.
“I thought he claimed his phone was dying and he urgently needed to use the bathroom,” Nisa commented angrily.
Nisa reported the incident to the food delivery company, though details regarding any actions taken against the rider were not disclosed. Her tweet gained widespread attention, garnering over 871,000 views and prompting discussions among users on safety measures during food deliveries.
One user suggested preemptively instructing delivery drivers to leave items at the door to avoid face-to-face interactions, emphasizing the importance of clear communication.
“That’s alarming. Next time, mention your husband or father is present at home,” another user advised, citing similar safety concerns.
Several users recommended filing a police report against the delivery rider, underscoring the seriousness of the incident.
The food delivery company involved has yet to publicly comment on the matter.
