Seaview Pizza Kitchen, located on High Street in Seaview, has recently received a one-star food hygiene rating following an inspection by Environmental Health inspectors on April 27.
According to the inspection report obtained by The County Press, several areas of concern were identified during the visit. Inspectors noted deficiencies in the system of stock rotation and control, specifically highlighting that food items in the fridge were not adequately labeled with ‘use by’ dates. Notably, a packet of cooked ham past its ‘use by’ date of April 23 was found, four days overdue.
Furthermore, regular temperature monitoring of chilled, high-risk food had not been conducted since 2023. Inspectors also observed a lack of materials for hygienic hand drying at the wash hand basin in the food preparation area.
In addition to these findings, inspectors discovered that an allergens chef’s sheet did not include the Napoli pizza, which contained allergens within its ingredients. It was explained that this was a new pizza that had not yet been added to the allergens sheet.
As a result of these issues, Seaview Pizza Kitchen received a total score of 30 and was issued a food hygiene rating of one, indicating that “major improvement is necessary.”
The County Press has reached out to Seaview Pizza Kitchen for comment on the inspection findings.
