HyFun Foods, a prominent name in India’s potato processing sector, is set to broaden its horizons with a bold expansion plan. The company is transitioning from its core business of potato processing to a larger role in the frozen foods market. According to a report by FnBnws.com, HyFun Foods will introduce a new range of products, including pizzas, kebabs, and processed vegetables, over the coming months.
Currently, HyFun Foods derives 70% of its revenue from exporting potato products to 40 countries. Its key clients include major quick-service restaurants such as Burger King, KFC, Pizza Hut, and Domino’s.
As part of its growth strategy, HyFun Foods plans to significantly enhance its supply chain. The company aims to expand its network to include 10,000 farmers initially. By the end of fiscal year 2029 (FY29), this network is projected to grow to 30,000 farmers across key regions including Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh. These farmers will be involved in the production of potato seed and the sourcing of raw materials.
HyFun Foods operates under a ‘seed-to-shelf’ business model. This approach begins with contract farming for seed multiplication of processing varieties of potatoes and includes a buyback agreement for the procurement of crops at predetermined prices.
