In a move that’s set to excite vegan and gluten-free dessert enthusiasts, Ben & Jerry’s, which is owned by Unilever, has revealed its plan to introduce two novel flavours to its existing line of non-dairy treats.
The first of the new offerings is the Non-Dairy Boom Chocolatta, which comes with a mocha and caramel flavour profile. Crafted using almond milk, this delectable dessert incorporates fudge flakes, gluten-free chocolate cookies, and even features a gluten-free chocolate cookie core at its centre, promising a rich and indulgent taste experience for consumers.
The other addition, Non-Dairy Bananas Foster, presents a delightful combination of a banana and cinnamon base. To enhance its flavour and texture, it’s dotted with almond toffee pieces and has a salted caramel core, making it a unique and appealing option for those seeking something different in the non-dairy frozen dessert category.
With these two new flavours hitting the market, Ben & Jerry’s non-dairy options in the US now total 18. According to the brand, this represents nearly 40% of its entire flavour line-up, highlighting the growing significance of its non-dairy offerings.
Dena Wimette, the head of innovation at Ben & Jerry’s, commented on the new releases, stating, “We understand that individuals who opt for non-dairy frozen desserts have a penchant for variety. They aim to steer clear of dairy while still indulging in amazing flavours. These two new non-dairy flavours are bound to satiate their cravings for something distinct and delicious.”
Consumers in the US will soon be able to find Boom Chocolatta and Bananas Foster at retail stores, with a suggested retail price (SRP) ranging from $4.49 to $5.79.
It’s worth noting that just a year ago, Ben & Jerry’s made waves in the US market by introducing a new Topped ice cream line. This line boasted seven flavours, each covered with a chocolate ganache, further demonstrating the brand’s continuous efforts to diversify and innovate its product offerings.
