The Salvation Army is calling for donations of desserts to help serve those in need this Christmas Day. The organization is aiming to provide 2,000 holiday meals and is requesting approximately 400 desserts, such as store-bought pies, to complete their festive meal offerings.
Dessert donations can be dropped off at The Salvation Army’s location at 908 Yuma Street in Colorado Springs, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. leading up to Christmas. The Salvation Army, which is located in the Knob Hill area, will serve free meals on Christmas Day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at multiple locations across the region.
In addition to the Colorado Springs location, free meals will also be offered at the following sites:
Manitou Springs City Hall: 606 Manitou Avenue, Manitou Springs
Fountain Valley Senior Center: 5745 Southmoor Drive, Fountain
Woodland Park Community Church: 900 Evergreen Heights Drive, Woodland Park
The Salvation Army is encouraging community members to contribute and help make the holiday season brighter for local families in need.
