SINGAPORE – Vietnamese chicken chain Chickita, which made waves in Ho Chi Minh City since its inception in 2019, officially launches in Singapore on December 20. The restaurant promises to bring its signature flame-grilled chicken, flavorful sides, and unique sauces that have made it a favorite in its home country.
At the heart of Chickita’s menu is the chicken, marinated for 24 hours before being flame-grilled and served with a choice of six inventive sauces. The chicken is presented on a large blue plate, with diamond-shaped grill marks signaling its smoky, rich flavor. Customers can opt for a whole chicken ($37.90), a half portion ($19.90), or individual pieces, including a quarter leg, quarter breast, and boneless leg at $10.90 each. Chicken tenders are also available, priced at $8.90 for five pieces.
The chicken can be enjoyed plain, although “plain” at Chickita still means a marinated, flavorful experience. For those seeking more kick, there are various sauce options. The Original sauce, a mild mix of lemongrass, lime leaf, and chili, remains a favorite. For a spicier option, the Sexy sauce, infused with roasted red chilies, delivers a light heat, while the Dynamite sauce offers a potent blend of chillies and spices for a more intense experience.
In addition to the chicken, sides are available for an extra $4.90 or can be added to combos starting from $13.90. Popular side dishes include sweet potato fries lightly salted and the signature rice, a fragrant dish reminiscent of the broth-soaked, fat-fried rice served with Hainanese chicken rice.
Chickita’s versatile menu also features a range of creative chicken dishes such as sticky “ribs” ($10.90), tacos ($12.90), salads ($12.90), burgers ($14.90), and wraps ($13.90), showcasing the chain’s ability to transform its star ingredient.
While the menu offers an array of savory options, the dessert selection is still limited. Sweet treats include vanilla ice cream with crushed Oreos or raspberry and passion fruit puree, each priced at $4.90, though some may find them overly sweet.
With its bold flavors and inventive menu, Chickita is set to make its mark in Singapore’s vibrant food scene.
