Bengaluru – December 16, 2024: GOPIZZA, a fast-rising name in the global food scene, has officially launched Dalkomi, India’s first brand dedicated to authentic Korean desserts. The debut took place at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, marking a significant milestone in the country’s expanding interest in Korean culture and cuisine.
Named after the Korean word for “sweet,” Dalkomi is a sister brand of GOPIZZA, aimed at introducing traditional and contemporary Korean desserts to Indian consumers. While Korean barbecue and ramen have already become household staples in India, Korean sweets have remained largely untapped. Dalkomi seeks to fill this gap by offering an array of desserts that reflect the vibrant, flavorful, and visually appealing side of Korean culinary tradition.
The Dalkomi menu features an assortment of beloved Korean street food-inspired treats, including Bungeo-ppang (fish-shaped pastries), Kkwabaegi (twisted donuts), and Tanghulu (candied fruit), as well as modern favorites like Punyangi (Korean dancing pudding) and Dosirak Cake (miniature bento cakes). In addition to these, the store also offers trendy beverages like bubble tea, milkshakes, coffee, and gelato—favorites currently sweeping across Korea.
Spanning 150 square feet, the store is strategically located in the bustling T1 terminal of Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport, ensuring high visibility among both local and international travelers. The store’s interior features a playful, pink-themed design and a vibrant color palette, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Customers can also immerse themselves in Korean culture with a photo zone featuring traditional Hanbok attire, allowing them to capture memories while enjoying their sweet treats.
“We’re thrilled to introduce Dalkomi to India, offering travelers an authentic taste of Korean desserts like never before,” said Mahesh Reddy, CEO of GOPIZZA India. “Dalkomi taps into the growing global fascination with K-culture while catering to India’s love for indulgent, visually-stunning sweets. We’re confident that our unique offerings will resonate with both Indian customers and international tourists alike.”
The opening of this first store is just the beginning for Dalkomi. The brand plans to expand rapidly, aiming to launch 50 stores in key metro cities, airports, and GOPIZZA locations by the end of fiscal year 2025. With a focus on high-quality ingredients, innovative recipes, and visually captivating desserts, Dalkomi is poised to set new standards in the Indian dessert industry and redefine the concept of premium sweets.
