Costco has always baked one heck of a cheesecake, and this new creation is no exception. In fact, it might just be worth its own trip.
The latest Costco bakery item to test my willpower (and win) is the strawberry streusel cheesecake. The retailer introduced it sometime over the past week or two, and you can find it sitting next to the controversial carrot cake in the bakery’s refrigerated section.
Weighing in at 4 pounds and 8 ounces, Costco’s strawberry streusel cheesecake is a whopper—with a price tag to match. It features a delicious graham cracker crust, rich cheesecake filling, a layer of strawberry, and a crumbly streusel topping. While I initially balked at the $22.99 price, after having tried it, I can confidently say it was worth every penny.Digging into it, I was surprised by how thick it is. I’d recommend using a sharp knife to serve it, as I struggled to get a clean cut with my butter knife. Like any good cheesecake, it’s somehow dense and fluffy at the same time. Overall I found it sweet, but not too sweet, and the strawberries are a lovely spring touch. Ideal for large groups, it would be the perfect addition to your table this Easter.
Reddit users were quick to point out that this new seasonal addition appears to be Costco’s follow-up to 2024’s viral cherry cheesecake and the more recent mixed berry cheesecake. But does the strawberry streusel cheesecake compete with the tiramisu cheesecake customers call “heavenly?” We think so!
Costco’s newest spring treat likely won’t stick around for long, so grab one while you can!
