Starbucks is gearing up for summer with the release of a new, refreshing drink. The coffee giant is launching the Iced Horchata Oatmilk Shaken Espresso, a beverage inspired by the traditional Mexican horchata. The drink, which blends a creamy, spiced flavor with oat milk, will be available at Starbucks locations nationwide starting this May.
Alongside the new addition, Starbucks is also bringing back fan-favorites, including the Summer Berry Refreshers. These drinks are known for their berry-forward flavors and colorful popping pearls at the bottom. Additionally, a new Strawberries and Cream Cake Pop will be joining the menu this season.
This marks Starbucks’ first major menu drop since the release of their spring lineup, and although the company hasn’t confirmed additional details, rumors about the new items have already begun circulating.
Food blogger Markie Devo, known for his insider information, speculated on Instagram that the Iced Horchata Oatmilk Shaken Espresso features a base of Blonde espresso, a new horchata syrup, and oat milk. Devo also hinted at a coconut-based version of the Summer Berry Refresher, which he dubbed the “Coconut Milk Skies.”
The new cake pop combines buttercream with strawberry-cream cake, all covered in chocolate icing decorated with a strawberry design.
Devo further speculated that the new menu items could be available as early as May 20, although Starbucks has not yet confirmed this date. With CEO Brian Niccol’s goal of simplifying the menu, it’s possible that this summer’s offerings will be more streamlined compared to previous years.
Despite these changes, many Starbucks fans are hoping for the return of the beloved S’mores Frappuccino, which has yet to be confirmed for the summer menu.
