Bakkavor Desserts, recognized as Europe’s largest chilled desserts enterprise, is embarking on a substantial endeavor to enhance onsite facilities for its 2,000-strong workforce. Nestled on the Jessop Way Industrial Estate, the company is renowned for producing millions of eclairs, custard tarts, and trifles destined for supermarket shelves across the UK.
The forthcoming facilities are meticulously designed to bolster the daily operations of the site, catering to a diverse range of employee needs. Among the additions is a novel outdoor picnic area, providing a comfortable space for relaxation. Additionally, a designated smoking area is included in the plans, aligning with both employee well-being and regulatory considerations.
Enhancing the employee experience, a fresh bathroom facility will be introduced, contributing to a more pleasant and accommodating work environment. Furthermore, the expansion incorporates four additional meeting rooms, augmenting the site’s collaborative capabilities. A noteworthy inclusion is a designated prayer room, reflecting the commitment to inclusivity and recognizing the diverse needs of the workforce.
Addressing employees’ nourishment requirements, the initiative also introduces an enlarged Choux Box staff shop. This newly expanded shop will offer subsidised food options, catering to the culinary preferences and dietary choices of the workforce.
By investing in these comprehensive facilities, Bakkavor Desserts underlines its dedication to fostering a supportive and holistic work environment for its extensive workforce. This strategic move is poised to not only improve daily operations but also enhance employee satisfaction and overall well-being.
