TOKYO, Sept. 11 – On a vibrant Saturday, China Festival 2023 commenced in the heart of Tokyo’s Yoyogi Park, marking the 45th anniversary of the signing of the China-Japan Treaty of Peace and Friendship. This two-day celebration, co-sponsored by the Chinese Embassy in Japan and the Executive Committee of China Festival 2023, aims to foster deeper people-to-people connections between China and Japan.
The event boasts an array of more than 80 booths, including the China Cultural Center, the China National Tourism Office in Tokyo, and the China Enterprises Association in Japan. These booths serve as a dynamic platform for enhancing friendly exchanges between the citizens of both nations, offering cultural exhibitions, culinary delights, tourism insights, and more.
Distinguished guests, including former Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda, Chinese Ambassador to Japan Wu Jianghao, and Japan’s ruling coalition party Komeito leader Yamaguchi Natsuo, graced the opening ceremony of the festival and shared their insights through heartfelt speeches.
Mr. Fukuda, who also serves as the top advisor of the Executive Committee of China Festival 2023, remarked on the festival’s growing popularity and its expanding footprint. He expressed his hope that this event would allow everyone to fully immerse themselves in Chinese culture while perpetuating the enduring friendship between Japan and China.
Ambassador Wu Jianghao underscored the significance of China Festival as a brand event jointly created by the Chinese Embassy in Japan, Japan-China friendship groups, and the overseas Chinese community.
