A recent poll has unveiled the preferred alcoholic beverage of Ohioans when dining out, shedding light on the state’s distinct drinking preferences.
The Q2 2023 Restaurant Trends Report, published by restaurant management company Toast, delved into the most popular alcoholic drinks and spirits by state. While beer emerged as a favored choice nationwide, Ohio stood out as the “hard seltzer capital” of the United States, according to the research findings.
The data revealed that Ohio restaurants recorded an astonishing average sales volume of hard seltzer, surpassing the figures of all other states by a substantial margin, with sales exceeding 160% more than the national average.
While vodka remained a prominent spirit of choice in most states, whiskey took the lead in West Virginia, Wyoming, Indiana, Kansas, and Kentucky. This comprehensive study offers an intriguing glimpse into regional drinking preferences, highlighting Ohio’s distinctive penchant for hard seltzers among its residents when they dine out.
