ABERDEEN, Scotland, Oct 16 – Humza Yousaf, Scotland’s leader, has expressed grave concern over the deteriorating situation faced by his wife’s parents in Gaza, who are rapidly depleting their food and water supplies and face a dire predicament if they are unable to leave soon.
While Yousaf’s parents-in-law, Elizabeth and Maged El-Nakla, are residents of Scotland, they were visiting family in Gaza when recent hostilities erupted, resulting in tragic loss of life.
In the wake of these events, Israel has enforced a comprehensive blockade on the Palestinian enclave, preventing the flow of aid and limiting the movement of foreign passport-holders.
Yousaf, 38, revealed that his in-laws have resorted to strict rationing, sustaining themselves on minimal provisions, including one egg a day and meager sips of potable water, all in an effort to ensure there is enough sustenance for their grandchildren.
