Oakberry, the renowned Brazilian açai smoothie chain, is set to expand its presence in Vancouver with the opening of another location. The global brand is preparing to welcome patrons to its newest smoothie and bowl shop at The Post, located at 349 W Georgia St in Downtown Vancouver, on Friday, April 19.
Joining an array of retail tenants at The Post, including Loblaws City Market and Starbucks, Oakberry’s arrival adds to the diverse food options available at the high-profile redevelopment, which is also expected to feature the popular Brazilian steakhouse chain Fogo de Chao.
Customers visiting The Post on opening day can anticipate special discounts on their purchases and the opportunity to win Oakberry prizes.
At Oakberry, guests can indulge in customizable bowls filled with a variety of toppings such as chia seeds, fresh fruit, granola, and coconut, all enjoyed with a spoon. The shop also offers sip-able smoothies, with the option of adding up to three ingredients, made with real açai, promising a rich and intense flavor derived from 100 per cent natural ingredients without any artificial additives.
In addition to their signature smoothies and bowls, Oakberry offers packaged goods including their own line of açai protein bars, a canned matcha energy drink, and Vancouver-specific merchandise.
Since its inception in Brazil in 2016, Oakberry has rapidly gained popularity and expanded globally, with franchises established in over 30 nations, including the United States, France, and Australia.
Carter Friesen, the Master Franchisee for Western Canada, was inspired to bring Oakberry to Vancouver after encountering the açai bowl and smoothie concept during a trip to Australia.
The forthcoming opening at The Post marks Oakberry’s seventh location in Metro Vancouver. Following this expansion, the franchise plans to launch a new shop at The Amazing Brentwood in Burnaby in the coming weeks, followed by another outpost at Park Royal in West Vancouver later this summer.
This expansion into Metro Vancouver signifies the culmination of seven Oakberry locations in British Columbia, underscoring the brand’s commitment to growth in Western Canada, as stated in a media release from the company.
